The tree who caught the sunset

The tree that caught the sunset

There once was a tree,
who lost most of his leaves.
Some said he was too old,
the others said he was too weak.

So he begged the Sun,
to help him grow.
He said Dear Sun I have no leaves
and I cast an ugly shadow.

The other trees silenced him,
don't bother the sun they said.
We get our fill of sunlight,
then we go off to bed.

The sun set but the tree cried on,
till the final rays drew back.
And when the forest was in darkness,
alone stood The tree who caught the sunset.

This is a little poem about desperation,
I hope you find meaning in it.
